The Electrical Contractors Association of Manitoba (ECAM) values the privacy of its' membership, industry partners and their employees. This Policy outlines the collection, use and disclosure of information provided to or collected by ECAM. It is the intention of ECAM through this Privacy Policy to reflect best practices within the Non-Profit sector.
ECAM is committed to the protection of your personal privacy. Information collected by ECAM of its membership, industry partners and their employees is understood to be Business contact information and will be used by ECAM and its' agents for business related purposes. Member company information will be listed online and may be changed at any time through the membership portal. If you require assistance contact info@ecamb.ca.
The ECAM website server is located in Vancouver, BC at the Ntirety data center and backed up in Toronto, ON by Microsoft Azure data center. The website is equipped with a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption to ensure a secure connection between the server and an SSL-compatible browser. SSL protocol provides a safe passage for transmitting and authenticating data by encrypting the information. Data cannot be compromised when SSL is in use.
The ECAM Website provides for optional credit card payment upon event registration or purchase of ECAM product (e.g., sponsorship commitment, networking event, educational workshops) as well as optional automatic membership renewals. To achieve PCI DSS compliance requirements, ECAM does not store Sensitive Authentication Data (SAD). This information is stored by our payment service provider.
You may submit Personal Information to ECAM by email when you express interest in or apply for employment. You may submit your name, email address, telephone number, resume/CV, and cover letter. ECAM will use the information as a necessity to respond to your inquiry & contact you about employment. If your application is successful, ECAM will retain the Personal Information for the duration of your employment, and beyond based on statutory retention periods. If ECAM does not employ you, we will delete your Personal Information when time limits for legal actions have lapsed.
ECAM reserves the right to use photos and video taken at ECAM or Industry related events, in ECAM publications or other media material and platforms. This will be done without the expressed written permission of those included within the photo or video. Should the photo or video include an identifying image of a child, written approval will be obtained by the parent or legal guardian, prior to publication of the image.
ECAM and our third-party providers collect information using various technologies, including cookies and pixel tags (which are also called clear GIFs, web beacons, or pixels). Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or in device memory that help us improve our services and your experience. Pixel tags are electronic images that may be used on our website or emails, and track usage of our website and email effectiveness for communication.
ECAM occasionally uses session cookies to track how our visitors use our site, determine sites previously visited or facilitate the use of secure portions of this site. Information from the cookies is compiled for statistical analysis on traffic patterns and is used to assess and improve the efficiency of the website. A cookie is a file that may be placed on your hard drive without your knowledge by a website to allow it to monitor your use of the site. The cookies we use do not allow ECAM to identify individuals.
ECAM uses Google Analytics and Google Analytics uses "cookies" stored on your computer to help analyze how users use the ECAM website. Information generated by the cookies about your use of our website, including your IP address, will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. The IP address, however, will be shortened before being sent to Google and Google can then not use it any more to identify you or your computer. Only in exceptional cases the full IP address will be transmitted to and shortened by Google.
Google uses the information generated by the cookies for the purpose of evaluating the use of the ECAM website, compiling reports on website activity providing ECAM with these reports for analytical purposes.
You may prevent or stop the installation and storage of cookies by your browser settings by downloading and installing the free Opt-out Browser Add-on available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. We inform you that in such case you will not be able to wholly use all functions of our website.
Links to other websites: Our website may contain links to other websites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third-party sites or services.
When you post information to an ECAM social media (e.g. X or Facebook) the information you post is visible to other persons and can be read, collected, used and disclosed by these other persons, including to send unsolicited messages. ECAM assumes no responsibility or liability for the use, disclosure or retention of the information you disclose through such means.
ECAM reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. ECAM will notify the membership, industry partners and their employees, via the ECAM website of a new privacy policy.
