The Board is comprised of a cross-section of Manitoba's Electrical Industry, ensuring perspective of the entire industry. The Board of Directors has created and adheres to policy which outlines a critical Skills Matrix.
The Matrix includes union, non-union, rural, urban, low voltage, residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, and utility, constructors and service contractors. The Board of Directors analyzes their collective skills annual to ensure shortfalls are addressed with the nomination of new Board members.

Dave Cook, born in Thompson, Manitoba, has built a career in the electrical industry since becoming a journeyman in 1995. His journey within Static Electric saw him rise from a first level apprentice to journeyman to Operations Manager to a Co-Owner and currently to the role of President.
Dave is deeply invested in the well-being of the trade and its workers. He actively participates in discussions and drives initiatives aimed at ensuring fair treatment, upholding safety standards, and fostering professional development within the electrical sector. As the ECAM Social Committee Chair, he plays a pivotal role in promoting a supportive and inclusive environment within the industry.
Outside of work, Dave's passions include spending time with his family, cooking, playing golf, and watching hockey.
Paul Shack is known as one of the founding members of the Winnipeg Building Information Modeling (BIM) Community. He has played a pivotal role in advancing the adoption and effective implementation of BIM practices within the construction industry. With over 19 years of experience, Paul has risen through the ranks to become Vice President of Operations at Nor-Tec Group Ltd. From beginning as a level 1 apprentice, he has worked his way up the ladder as a Journeyman, Site Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager and Operations Manager within Nor-Tec Group Ltd. Alongside his professional accomplishments, Paul actively participates as a Social Committee member and serves as a Board Representative on the Next Gen Advisory Council.
Bryan Trottier is a well-known entrepreneur and community leader based in Niverville, Manitoba. In 2008, he founded Trotco Electric Inc., which quickly became a leading electrical contractor in the region. As the President of Trotco Electric, Trottier has overseen the company's growth and success, expanding its operations and services to meet the needs of clients. In addition to his work at Trotco Electric, Trottier is also a dedicated community leader. He is the owner and board member of the Niverville Nighthawks, a local hockey team that provides opportunities for young players to develop their skills and pursue their dreams. Trottier is passionate about helping youth in the industry enter a healthy workplace and promoting the electrical industry as a rewarding and fulfilling career path.
Terry began his apprenticeship in 1970 as an electrician and only 8 years into his career founded Wescan Electrical. Since then, Wescan has grown into a dynamic, multifaceted company offering construction services such as mechanical, security, data communications, prefabrication, and CAD & BIM modelling. Terry has demonstrated his vision by implementing leading-edge industry technologies and building a strong team of highly skilled and experienced professionals.
Through his 52 years in the construction industry, Terry has been involved with some of Manitoba's most iconic buildings and infrastructures, such as the MTS Centre (Canada Life Centre), Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Manitoba Hydro Place, and True North Towers. Terry values giving back to the community through charity work, support groups and associations that contribute to excellence. Terry is a highly valued member of the Manitoba's Electrical Industry and in 2022 was elected as ECAM's President of the Board.
Meet Scott Shepherd, Operations Manager Manitoba with Shermco Industries Inc. Throughout his career, Scott has been involved in many grand scale projects including Manitoba-wide Fibre/Security Upgrades, NEWPCC Powerhouse/Substation Upgrade (one of the largest wastewater infrastructure projects in North America) and the City of Winnipeg Bus Rapid Transit Corridor Phase 2 Electrical/Utility. Scott has applied his knowledge to achieve a variety of certifications including Level 2 ASNT Thermongraphy, Advanced Power Quality Applications (Eaton), Power/MCCB Testing & Maintenance and Harmonic Risk Mitigation/Analysis. Currently Scott is passionate about mentoring the next generation of industry leaders and takes them under his wing when given the opportunity
Daniel is the President of Powertec Electric and Powertec Solar, driven by his passion for clean technology and environmental protection, specifically through electrification. With over two decades of industry expertise, including extensive work on large-scale construction projects in Vancouver, he founded Powertec upon relocating to Winnipeg in 2010. Daniel's commitment extends beyond business success; he prioritizes the well-being of his team and community. Holding key certifications like Gold Seal Project Manager and Renewable Energy Specialist, Daniel is also an electric vehicle enthusiast. His journey from apprenticeship at BCIT to achieving a Masters License in Ontario in 2015 reflects his dedication to excellence and innovation in the field.
Brendon Thiessen's journey at ABCO Supply & Service Ltd began in 2007 as a delivery truck driver. He transitioned into an electrical apprenticeship in 2008, earning his Red Seal Electrician (RSE) certification in 2012. Building upon his Red Seal certification, he went on to achieve the title of Ontario Master Electrician. Since 2014, Brendon has worked as a Project Manager, utilizing his many years of experience to effectively analyze project requirements, provide accurate cost estimations, and efficiently coordinate resources. Brendon is actively involved with the ECAM board, Social Committee, and Next Gen Advisory Council. Outside of work, Brendon enjoys recreational cycling and indulges his creative side as an amateur tattoo artist.
Clint Eskilson is a Project Manager at Interlake Electric Ltd. in Teulon, Manitoba. He has been a journeyman electrician since 1994. He has worked on a variety of interesting projects throughout his career, such as fuel stations, bulk fuel facilities, car dealerships, water & wastewater treatment plants, hemp processing plants and other agricultural projects, gensets, aggregate, hospitals, and hydrogen generating units. Clint always strives to provide quality service for customers. Outside of work, Clint has been a volunteer firefighter for over 30 years and enjoys fishing when he can find the time.
John Mackinnon is a motivated self-starter that began his own business, J-MAC POWER & DATA and continues to manage over 19 years later. Being a Red Seal Journeyman and contractor license holder, he is driven to help his employees attain their Journey Person designation as construction electricians. John's expertise has been sharpened by a diverse portfolio of unique experiences including his work on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Working as a foreman for two years on one of the largest resorts presented an opportunity to hone his analytical and decision-making skills. As a self declared "golf nut", you could find John absorbed in the world of golf in his off time.
Lionel Penner intuitively recognizes the wires of opportunity within the next generation of tradespeople and works to shape them into knowledgeable electricians. This intuition comes as a result of over 19 years of experience working with and supervising over 700 electricians. Lionel has many years of leadership under his "tool belt" having worked as a Service Manager at 3-Phase Electrical/ Spark Power Corp for 15 years and an additional 2 years as the Branch Manager. He is currently working as the General Manager at Ayawtech Automation, a service-based company that specializes in commercial and industrial work throughout Manitoba and Western Canada. Striving to achieve the best in customer satisfaction, Lionel prioritizes quick and effective problem solving for his customers.
Matt Krahn is a Branch Manager at McCaine Electric, a one-stop electrical contractor in the industrial, institutional, and commercial markets. McCaine Electric is a long-standing company over a century old, 17+ years of which Matt has worked in a variety of roles. Before working in his current position, Matt worked as a Foreman, Field Superintendent and Senior Project Manager. In his career, he has demonstrated greatness in the planning, execution, and completion of many projects. Matt is an avid fisher and loves spending time in the boat with his family and friends. Spending every weekend at the lake, you will not catch him inside the city limits in the summertime.
Calvin Sutherland is an accomplished Red Seal Electrician with over 17 years of experience in his field. He obtained his RSE certification at Red River College and has gained a variety of experience working as an Estimator, Project Coordinator and Project Manager. Currently, Calvin is the Electrical Division Manager at ServcoCanada where he has a proven track record of leading teams and managing major projects. A few projects that Calvin managed or coordinated include; Winnipeg Airport Terminal, HSC Women's Hospital, Selkirk Regional Health Centre and Keeyask Generating Station. Driven by his family and friends, Calvin is often seeking out new challenges to tackle.
Rob Fourneaux has led an impressive career as a Journeyman Electrician, Project Manager and Estimator in his 20+ years working with Tri-Star Electric. Rob found his passion right out of high school where he began working in the electrical trade. From there, he gained his Red Seal Endorsed Construction Electrician certification in 2003, completed the PMI Project Management Fundamentals Course at Red River College, accomplished the Trimble Accubid Fundamentals Software Training Course and is registered as a City of Winnipeg Electrical Contractor. Serving as a Project Manager and Estimator with Tri-Star, Rob is a liaison between customers, General Contractors, Site Foremen, and Service Technicians. Through his commitment to this role, Rob aims to find fast effective solutions for customers through a great network of industry suppliers and agency representatives. Notably, Rob manages a 42 storey CRU/ residential tower in downtown Winnipeg and multiple Manitoba Hydro contracts servicing buildings within the City of Winnipeg and Rural areas.
Dale Hendry embarked on his career in the electrical industry, initiating his path at the age of 13 by working part-time during summers and weekends at Allco Electrical. During his high school years at Kildonan East Collegiate, Dale completed a 3-year Electrical Trades program, setting a solid foundation for his future. After graduating from high school, he embraced a full-time role as a Construction Electrician, eventually earning his Red Seal certification in 1999.
In 2001, Dale made a pivotal transition into the office at Allco Electrical, where he was mentored by his father and the experienced team on diverse aspects of project management, estimating, and various other responsibilities. Anticipating his father's retirement, Dale and a dedicated team came together in 2005 to form a new ownership group, ensuring a seamless transition and continued success in the business. Today, Dale holds the position of President at Allco Electrical, actively engaging in every facet of the company while taking pleasure in mentoring the next generation of leaders.
Throughout his journey, Dale has achieved numerous technical and personal milestones, but it is the wealth of experience he has accumulated over time that he values most. He's cultivated valuable relationships within the electrical industry, which he both enjoys and respects. Beyond his professional life, Dale is an active member of YPO and finds solace in spending quality time at the cottage year-round. He is a devoted husband and proud father to three young adult children.
Jordan Snyder is the Electrical Manager for Manitoba at Trotter and Morton Industrial Contracting. With a distinguished career in the electrical contracting industry, Jordan has made significant contributions to high-profile projects including serving as QA/QC lead for the Winnipeg International Airport, overseeing the MB Hydro Longspruce 230kV cable replacement, and managing phases 2A and 2B of the Portage la Prairie WTP. His expertise also extends to the NEWPCC DCS migration and interim phosphorous removal projects.
Inspired by the opportunities for change and innovation within the industry, Jordan is passionate about leveraging technological advancements and developing new strategies. He is dedicated to training the next generation of workforce professionals and is committed to the growth and evolution of his field. As a Red Seal Journeyman Electrician, Jordan combines his technical expertise with a drive for excellence, making him a valuable asset in the world of industrial contracting.
