City of Winnipeg, Indigenous Chamber of Commerce and CCEDNet invite you to join the next Winnipeg Social Procurement Roundtable which will be focused on social procurement and the journey to socio-economic reconciliation. This event will include information on the Truth and Reconciliation Committees (TRC) Call to Action #92 which calls on the corporate sector to act towards socio-economic reconciliation with Indigenous Rightsholders, you will hear from a private sector organization on their journey with truth and reconciliation, and you will have the opportunity to connect with Indigenous businesses and Indigenous led Social Enterprises. By using social procurement to support Indigenous Rightsholders, communities, and businesses, public and private purchasers can contribute and respond to Call to Action #92.

This Social Procurement Roundtable is for you if you are:

  • A private or public sector purchaser who wants to learn more about what you can do to support Call to Action #92 and are keen to build relationships with Indigenous businesses or Indigenous led Social Enterprises; or
  • An Indigenous business or an Indigenous led Social Enterprise.

The Winnipeg Social Procurement Roundtable is an interactive event that will provide an opportunity for purchasers from across Winnipeg to connect with Indigenous businesses or Indigenous led Social Enterprises and incorporate them into their supply chain. The purchasers will include City purchasers, public sector purchasers and private sector purchasers. Businesses who sell to the City will have the opportunity to connect with social value suppliers and incorporate social value suppliers into their supply chain in response to Call to Action #92 and the City’s Sustainable Procurement goals.

Join co-chairs Renee Greyeyes from the Indigenous Chamber of Commerce and Michael Barkman from CCEDNet Manitoba where we will:

  • Learn more about Call to Action #92 and what your organization can do from the Indigenous Chamber of Commerce, City of Winnipeg, and a guest speaker; and
  • Network with Indigenous businesses and Indigenous led Social Enterprises and purchasers.

We encourage all attendees to bring business cards with them to support future networking with other event attendees.
